Our Superintendent

The superintendent of a school provides the administrative leadership to all school personnel as well as aides in setting and carrying out the goals and objectives of the school district. Dr. Deborah Jackson-Dennison, our superintendent, believes in designing a system to build positive relationships between all stakeholders: students, staff, parents, family, and community. We appreciate her focus on a culturally responsive, relevant, and sustainable education system for all San Carlos students.

A Message from Our Superintendent

Dear Parents and Community,

Welcome to our 2017-2018 school year and our new and exciting direction! It is my belief that every organization is designed to get the results they get. With that in mind we will continue moving forward with improving San Carlos Unified School District, starting with our newly adopted San Carlos Vision & Mission Statements and our Core Principles of Learning. All are designed to help you better understand what we stand for at San Carlos Unified School District.

We have some new administrative team members and have made some systemic reforms or changes in our school system design that we believe will better serve and assist our students, parents, grandparents, and surrounding community.

We welcome our new San Carlos secondary school principal, Ms. Susan Poole. Ms. Poole comes to SCSS from the Arizona Department of Education (ADE) where she worked with the Integrated Support Team, assisting schools across the state of Arizona. In fact, both SCSS and Rice Elementary were schools Ms. Poole worked with under this program. Prior to working for ADE, Ms. Poole was principal at Kyrene Middle School for over 20 years. We are excited she has chosen to be a part of our administrative leadership team at San Carlos USD.

We also welcome two new associate principals. Mr. Ivan Tsosie and Ms. Valerie Cervantez  are working at Rice Elementary this school year.

We invite you to join us in our efforts to provide San Carlos students with an exceptional educational experience.

Sincerely,

Deborah Jackson-Dennison

Dr. Deborah Jackson-Dennison
